SSI Dry Suit Diver Speciality Course

Description

Dry suits are used as an alternative to wet suits in colder conditions, rather than using a layer of heated water between the suit and the skin, a dry suit uses air contained within the suit, supplied from the cylinder and thick underclothing to provide insulation. The SSI Dry Suit Diver Speciality Course will enable the partipant to understand the techniques associated with Dry Suit Diving and in particular the effects on buoyancy control and managing air getting into the boots!

All equipment is provided.

Age Range

Minimum age 10 years, parental approval is required for participants under 18 years old.

To all our SSI professional divers thank you for renewing your certification level with SSI for another year, weather looking better so hopefully a great year ahead for you and Viewpoint Diving. We are in the process of sorting an owsi ITC at the end of April for an additional 5 AI’s upgrading their status to full open water scuba instructors and so expanding our availability and course coverage. Viewpoint is moving in to more eco projects this year along with club diving as the youth us do important to the scuba industry and the ecology and safe keeping of our oceans. Viewpoint and Dave would like to to say thank you for your support and help during 2025 and previous years, viewpoint is a family of passionate scuba divers, teaching courses and more importantly safety and ecology, during 2025 a great group of marine ecologist started the portmellon seagrass project, which now has its own Facebook page called Port-meadows (PORT-MEADOWSPortmellon Marine Ecology And Deep-Water Seagrass). It’s still in its early days but results and research will be posted soon, along with the team members profiles. Main team, Tori, Cathy, Dan, Justin, Maya,leila, Darren. Today’s office for a quick dip to test the body could still dive, was in semi dry so not long but did collect 3 golf balls etc for logging on dive against debris. Collected sone samples for the seagrass project team and I’ll analyse later, and put on group messenger page. Hopefully conditions stay like this and improve.
